Q. A balloon with mass m is descending down with an acceleration a (where a < g). How much mass should be removed from it so that it starts moving up with an acceleration a?

Neet 2014 nlm & friction q 3 As you have already seen in the two hint videos that buoyant force is reducing the acceleration of balloon. Buoyant force is a constant force which will remain unaffected with change in mass of balloon. So while keeping this in mind , we have to write equation of Newton's second law for both the cases , upwards & downwards.
