Q.An engine pumps water continuously through a hose. Water leaves the
hose with a velocity v and m is the mass per unit length of the water
jet. What is the rate at which kinetic energy is imparted to water?

W.P.E Q 1 | This type of qus requires
our ability of converting any known formula, in terms of given variables . For
ex. Here we need to convert kinetic energy per unit time in terms of given mass
per unit length and velocity . For that we will divide mass by time in the
formula of kinetic energy per unit time and then we will put value of this mass
as a product of mass per unit length and length. As we know length per unit
time is velocity so finally we will get the desired result. Watch closely and
try to learn these conversion techniques . My word of advice , do not try to
attempt such qus in competition paper ( like Neet ) if you are not very good at
these.
